In a statement released Sunday evening, Trump also urged President Biden to complete the construction of the border wall, and accused the administration of “causing death and human tragedy.”
“In the interval of the bus [a] In a few weeks, the Biden administration has turned a national disaster into a national disaster.
“They are above their heads and are rapidly draining water.”
Thousands of migrants have traveled to the US-Mexico border since Trump stepped down, prompting the Biden administration to provide housing to migrant children who have migrated to the US in migrant facilities.
Facing criticism from Republicans for reversing many of Trump’s border policies, Biden said he planned to move to the southern border on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters after returning from Camp David to the White House, Biden said his administration is working to ensure potential migrants seeking asylum in the US to do so in their home country.
Earlier on Sunday, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the US would not bring back unaccounted children.
In his statement, Trump also blamed Mayurakas.
The former president said, “Secretary Mayurakas’ pathetic, struggling performance on the Sunday show was a national insult.”
“His self-satisfied presentation – in the midst of a massive crisis he helped engineer – is still more evidence that he is incapable of leading SRS.”
Trump said that a wall along the border – which he had built as a hallmark of his first presidential campaign – is still needed to secure international crossings.
“They should complete the wall immediately, which can be done in weeks – they should never stop it,” Trump said.
“They are causing death and human tragedy. Clearly, drugs are being put at record levels across the southern border in our country, not to mention human and sexual trafficking, ”he said.
