• Quarterback: Surprise! Even with Jimmy Garapolo currently, the Niners, traded up to No. 3, tell you that they think the quarterback needs to move on. John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan kicked off the board before taking three passers-by with Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson.
• Defensive line: Nick Bosa is very good, even though he has dealt with injuries over the years. The San Fran needs some help along the defensive line with DeForest Bruckner (before the 2020 season) and Solomon Thomas moved into free agency.
• Cornerback: Richard Sherman is still a free agent. Jason Verrett has an injury history. The 49ers’ pass race will still be good enough with Bosa, but he needs help from the secondary, if only he will get the man who gets the passerby.
