Aaron Judge gets critical competition after being ‘terrible in the plate’

Aaron the judge knows that he has been having a tough time at the plate recently, but he was hoping on Saturday that it would mark the start of his way out of the hole that he had recently dug for himself.

The Yankees right fielder was selected to enter his batting nine-Saturday innings with 11 strikes for 0 strikes. He dropped a single to the bottom of the field straight without a single for this, allowing the Yankees to beat the Nationals 4-3 in 11 innings.

“I was terrible at the plate,” the judge said. “Just being a little exaggerated. Especially with Houston coming in and then facing the countrymen, really trying to do too much at the plate.”

At the beginning of the current homestand, the judge came out of his lower body soreness with a hot bat for his time. But he quickly gave way to Laa Skid on Saturday.

“It’ll turn around,” the judge said. “It’s usually how you start a hit streak, with a little bloop or a dinner like that. So hopefully we’re on the right track.”
