Seton Hall cruised past Yale, 80-44, on Sunday to move to 2-0 on the back of 15 points from transfer Alexis Yetna.
The Pirates dominated the game from the start, jumping out to a 15-2 lead and going up 45-22 at halftime. The lead got to as little as 18 in the second half, but the outcome was never in doubt at Prudential Center.
Yetna led the Hall in scoring on 5 of 9 shooting from the field. Kadary Richmond scored 13 points on 5 of 8 shooting and Myles Cale added 11. Defensively, Seton Hall held Yale to 15 of 62 shooting, with Jalen Gabbidon’s 14 points leading the Bulldogs (2-1).
No Seton Hall player played more than 22 minutes, and 10 different players got in the scoring column as coach Kevin Willard went deep in his rotation during the blowout. It’s the second straight easy win for the Pirates after they opened with a 93-49 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson last week.
Their next game will be the first big test of the year — a Tuesday prime-time date with No. 6 Michigan in Ann Arbor.
