Carton and Roberts overtake Michael Kay in winter ratings

In the grand tradition of the WFAN Effortoon, Craig Carton may be inaccurate, obnoxious, and a bit overbearing. But his fascinating thing was that Intro’s lead in his WFAN show about “Victory and Loser” is right now and could end up being “Namba One” in New York sports radio lore with reference to Mike Francesa.

There are winners and losers.

For the Winter Rating Book, Carton and his partner, Evan Roberts, won.

“Carton and Roberts” met ESPN New York’s “The Michael’s Show” according to Nielsen Audio to beat the most important 25-54 men for advertising between the two stations.

“Carton & Roberts” was third in the market with a 5.3 share of listeners, while Kay was fourth with 4.8. It was the first complete book between the two shows.

After three years, in a federal prison for fraud, Carton reinstated WFAN for being a top-rated afternoon sports radio show. After consulting with neutral observers, we are including both streams in the final number, which has long been a disagreement between the two stations as to how they sell advertisements.

More important than our thinking, ESPN speaks louder than the number in New York’s works. It is now moved to Kay at 2pm to be more competitive in the Spring Book.

Moving forward, the Kay show will not have to start backstage as the first hour of “Carton & Roberts” shows “The Max Kellerman Show” (2, 9.0 shares 18 to 2.1) from 2-3 pm. A valid excuse, but an excuse nonetheless.

In addition to both shows now starting at the same time, adding intrigue, Carton and Roberts will soon be seen on SNY two hours a day to bring the TV theater to the competition.

Cartons are classified on accuracy, not accuracy. He falsely reported that ESPN + already had a deal for an NFL Sunday Ticket and may be lax with the facts.

He has the ability to use his skills for good when he causes high school sports in the city and is delayed because others around him were leaving amidst the epidemic.

When he stops his gambling addiction on Saturday, we hear a more empowered person. To borrow a phrase, the Weekend Carton is better than the Weekend Carton.

Meanwhile, Roberts has become a bit more assertive, but does not have enough expertise or zanyat. He is stuck in the middle.

At times he can sound like a Veruca salt. When the Jets are too slow in free agency (I want to sign one now!) Or that Peacock is limiting old prejudice WWE material (I need my stereotypes now!), He goes into full mode. Carton ends by becoming the voice of reason.

It is incorrect to say that Carton and Roberts do not talk about sports, it is to say that they do not really talk about sports.

They won’t completely break the Knicks-Heat like “Mike and Mad Dog”, but they will talk about garden popcorn as hard as it can be.

“Michael’s Show” is more polished, with the trio staying together for a very long time. This does not mean that they cannot lend it. We will consider expanding Peter Rosenberg’s ENN segment to be aired at 6 pm, which will see Kay and Don La Greca compete.

The format has the dual benefit of being both structured and relaxed. Probably something to add under a few hours. This makes more tent poles each day.

ESPN’s New York Company ran Kay over an hour earlier because it was earlier the start time for some Yankee games. This was a contributing factor.

But ESPN New York moved Kaye around 2pm, when Carton returned and he encroached. You do not do this if you are winning.

Around the dial

While Alan Hahn voiced good fillings for Zubin Mahendi on the national radio show over the past month and Rick Dipitro, Chris Canty and Dave Rothenberg do some entertaining stuff locally, “Boomer and Geo” (1) is still on ESPN Reigns Morning, 7.6 -2.6 in Share. ESPN NY was ranked 17th.

“Mojo and Maggie” were second (5.9) against Mike Greenberg (2.4, 16th) and Bart Scott and Hain (2.9, 12th), 10-2.
