With the days counting down to Super Bowl 2022, Action Network analysts Brandon Anderson and Raheem Palmer shared their early leans for the game.
Both Anderson and Palmer landed on different opinions for the point spread. Money has shown for the NFC champions, the side which most intrigues Anderson.
“The Bengals — we know — that offensive line has not been good,” Anderson said. “I think [the Rams defense] is going to live in the Bengals backfield.”
Anderson also cited the fact that this will be the best defense the Bengals have faced all season as a reason to back the Rams. In three games against teams ranking in the top-11 of DVOA metrics — twice against the Browns and once against the 49ers — the Bengals lost all three.
As for Palmer, he acknowledged the mismatch between the Bengals offensive line and Rams defensive line, but believes there’s another matchup of which bettors should take note.
“The Bengals just have a huge edge with their receivers,” Palmer said. “Facing this depleted Rams secondary…there’s just something about this Bengals team I think is special and I think the four-point spread is a little too much.”
Anderson added that beyond the sides, he’s intrigued by the under on the first-half total, which is currently sitting at 23.5.
“Both coaches are coaching scared right now,” Anderson said. “And the Rams defense has better metrics in the first-half and the Bengals aren’t really a fast-starting team.”
