The Giants-Dolphins showdown may be over, but the war of words between players doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon.
Following Miami’s 20-9 win over New York on Sunday, in which Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed 73 percent of his passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns, Giants cornerback Logan Ryan remarked that he’s “a lot like Tua,” as he referenced his high school days under center.
“I can throw 2-yard passes to the left. I’m accurate,” Ryan said amid the Giants’ quarterback woes, with starter Daniel Jones sidelined due to a neck injury and backup Mike Glennon grappling with a concussion.
Whether or not Ryan meant to take a dig at Miami’s second-year quarterback, Tagovailoa’s teammates certainly took the words personally – especially DeVante Parker.
One day after the game, the Dolphins receiver replied to an Instagram post from Bleacher Report’s Gridiron account, which highlighted Ryan’s remarks about Tagovailoa.
“Hold that L boi keep quiet,” Parker responded.
The Giants and Dolphins are on two different trajectories these days. Miami enters their bye week at 6-7 and is riding a five-game winning streak. They will next face the Jets on Sunday, Dec. 19.
As for Big Blue, they’re seeking their fifth win of the season Sunday against the Chargers (7-5). Although it remains to be seen if Glennon or new quarterback, Jake Fromm, will take the reins, fans — and most likely everyone in the organization — are hopeful the team can amass more than 250 total yards on offense.
