FDA Allows Pfizer’s COVID Wax to be Stored at Higher Temps

The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday that Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine can now be sent and stored at higher temperatures.

This step should help with the delivery and administration of the vaccine – as it should have already been kept at the utmost temperature.

Now, freezers are commonly found in pharmacies.

The FDA decided, after reviewing data provided by Pfizer and its German partner BioNotech, that their vaccine would be effective if stored at temperatures as low as two weeks.

The vaccination site ran into logistic issues under the requirement of an initial temperature ranging from minus 112 degrees to minus 76 degrees Fahrenheit.

They must either obtain an ultracold freezer, administer the dose quickly before spoiling, or place shipping containers with dry ice.
