Football supporter escapes with football gun, live ammo: NYPD

The NYPD said on Sunday that New York football supporter Zaira Bartley was gunned down with a stolen gun in The Bronx.

Bartley – A 22-year-old Midfielder for New Amsterdam Football Club Police said that initially at around 9 pm on Friday night, his BMW was equipped with an expired plate.

An officer saw a round of live ammo in clear view on the back seat of the car – and Bartley attempted to run when asked about it, the NYPD said.

Police said they were taken three blocks and a mile from the first stop at White Plains Road and Burke Avenue, from where he lives in the Laconia section of The Bronx.

The NYPD said Bartley, of Throop Avenue, was charged with possessing a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and fleeing an officer.

Bartley is currently on an active roster for New Amsterdam FC, which plays in the National Independent Soccer Association, police said. She is scheduled to appear in Bronx Criminal Court in April, court records show.

The club itself says “New York City’s Club of the People“But ever since the epidemic has started, games have been taking place at the Hudson Sports Complex above Warwick.

The club did not immediately respond to requests for comment Sunday.
