In the Miami Heat’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, Dec. 6, star forward Jimmy Butler reaggravated a tailbone injury that has been bothering him for the past week.
Butler is enjoying an All-Star-worthy season so far, averaging 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists over 18 games. As a result, the Heat are standing in at 14-11, good for fourth place in the improving Eastern Conference.

What is Jimmy Butler’s injury?
Butler missed Miami’s previous four games with a tailbone injury prior to his return against the Grizzlies on Dec. 6. One quarter into his first game back, the 32-year-old forward drove the lane and fell hard on his back, reaggravating the same injury that had kept him out of the lineup.
He stayed in the game after the fall but in the third quarter, Butler went to the locker room and never returned, being ruled out by the team.
