‘I just want to abuse’

The former aide who instigated the sexual harassment scandal, now told Gov. in a new interview. Andrew Cuomo says “I want the abuse to stop” – and reading the account of another accused “made me feel bad.”

He said, “This is not my Democratic Party, and it makes me angry to hear that.”

“That’s why I decided not to come in this area. I am not the same.

Boylan said: “My family consisted mainly of women who had a lot of generational trauma. I came into this space, because I wanted to do something about the evil things I saw, or So I was in my family or growing up. You can’t fix things in your past, but you can change it for other people. “

Kyomo conducted the interview before holding Wednesday’s news conference, in which he offered a qualified apology for his behavior, but after releasing a statement on Saturday, he said he made “jokes” at work and “Some things I’ve said” was misinterpreted as an unwanted flirtation. “

Asked to react to that statement, Boylan said, “I just want to stop the abuse. I’m not really focused on punishment. I’m focused on accountability.”

“And I think we’re seeing to some extent the way the governors (and their administration) are operating, the way they are, and it’s going to be seen in real time. And I think that’s really unfortunate But probably necessary, ”she said.

Boylan, 36, said, “He never had a conversation with Anna [Ruch], “33,” in a report Monday accused Cuomo, 63 of grabbing her face and kissing her during a wedding reception in Manhattan in 2019.

“It made me happy that I read her account,” said Boylan, adding: “I have a great love for her and I want to protect her.”

Boylan said he had a chat with Charlett [Bennett], “25, another former accomplice who accused 63-year-old Cuomo of sexual harassment.

“Surprised at how he handled himself,” Boylan said.

“There is a tremendous amount of love and connectivity that I feel for those who have had these types of experiences.”

Cuomo’s office did not immediately return a request for comment.
