‘Loki’ Director Playfully Dodges Question About ‘Blade’ Easter Egg

Director Kate Herron playfully dodged a question about the recent Blade easter egg in the fourth episode of Loki.

The fourth episode of Loki dropped numerous references and easter eggs to the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe while also juggling important plotlines and revelations. With so much information packed in a swift 45-minute episode, it’s easy to forget (or completely miss) about some of the subtler hints and easter eggs that were dropped along the way. One throwaway line that has fans gleaming with excitement is when Mobius mentions that the TVA has had more hassle bringing in Loki and Sylvie than vampires and Titans. While we’ve been familiar with Titans in the MCU for a while, it’s the vampire mention that had many excited as it potentially teases Mahershala Ali’s Blade.

The MCU hasn’t formally introduced vampires into the fold, with the line from Mobius being the first mention of the blood-sucking creatures. In an interview with CinemaBlend

, Loki director Kate Herron was asked to expand upon what could potentially be considered a Blade easter egg. Instead of putting forth a generic “You’ll have to wait and see,” answer, Kerron playfully dodged the question by saying it was better suited to be answered by MCU architect Kevin Feige.

“I would say you’d have to ask Kevin Feige [laughs]… That’s something with Marvel for sure.”
