Man dies after being crushed by a lift in a NYC apartment building

A man was crushed by an elevator in a Brooklyn apartment building on Friday afternoon.

According to police, the horrific accident occurred just after 1:15 a.m. at the Prospect Park building on Parkside Avenue near Flatbus Avenue.

It was not clear how the 64-year-old man got trapped under the elevator, which the passengers were riding on, police said.

He was taken to Kingsbrook Jewish Hospital but died.
