A Queens dad was pistol-whipped and shot in front of his 2-year-old son during a robbery attempt Monday night near their home, cops said.
The victim, 51, had just dropped off his wife and 7-year-old daughter at their Forest Hills home around 9 p.m. and was still in the car when he was accosted by two hooded men, according to police.
At least one of the robbers had a gun and demanded the dad’s phone and cash, but he resisted and was pistol-whipped, cops said.
With his tot still strapped into his car seat, a struggle ensued over the dad’s phone — and one of the robbers squeezed off a round, striking him in the arm and chest, police said.
The wounded dad was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition, cops said.
There were no immediate arrests and cops were investigating.
