Lionel Messi's Champions League debut for PSG: Live score, updates, highlights

[ad_1]

Paris Saint-Germain faces one of its most difficult away matches of the season when it pays a visit to the Stade Velodrome and a match against rival Olympique Marseille.

All three of PSG’s big names will be on the field for this one. That’s how big this match is: PSG is in first place with 27 points from its first 10 matches and it can virtually end Marseille’s title aspirations. With its 17 points after nine matches, Marseille would be 13 points away with a game in hand should they lose at home. A win would make them real contenders.

PSG has yet to log a convincing performance in Lionel Messi’s first season with the Parisian side. Questions of balance and defensive solidity have plagued PSG, which has looked fragile at times in matches against more established teams. It’s relied on individual moments of brilliance from its superstars to pull off results in Ligue 1 and Champions League play.
