Severe abdominal pain sent gymnast McKayla Marni to the emergency room this week, he revealed in an Instagram post.
The 25-year-old Olympic gold medalist posted a picture of her at the hospital on Thursday with her eyes closed and a pink mask under her chin.
“Tuesday I was throwing up all day, with severe pain in my back and stomach,” Maroni wrote on the social media site.
“Had to come to the ER at 3 am because the pain was getting worse, and I couldn’t stop throwing up … just got my CT scan back. I have some kidney stones.”
Marnie updated that she is now out of the ER, but “unfortunately nothing has changed, still on pain management.”
Marni was part of the “Fierce Five” team at the 2012 London Olympics and his “not impressed” face would live in Internet lore after winning the silver medal.
Maroni, 25, is one of several gymnasts in the US to speak out against Larry Nassar before he was convicted of sexual abuse at the age of 25. He has used his social media feed for greater accountability from American gymnastics for his role in Nassar feat. .
