The Bears played at Wrigley Field on Wednesday … The Bad News Bears, disguised as the New York Mets. Do not show that game film to anyone trying to figure out how to play defense or pitch. The 16-4 loss is not great, but the Mets are still 7-6 and ranked first in the NL East. There is no reason to panic due to a game in 30 degree weather in April. Everyone settled down. It is not the 6-11 Yankees right now.

To talk about some of the ugly games in Chicago and to look forward to the five-game homestand, we’ll bring with you a new episode of the “Amazing ‘But True” podcast with Nelson Figuero and me, including Merry Mate, Lenny There will be an interview with Harris.

Amazon ‘but True Podcast with Jake & Figure:

  • JD DAVIS / DEFENSE: Wednesday’s defensive effort was a disaster. JD Davis had yips. His error is a monster inning to the Cubs. Will defense be a problem for this team throughout the season?
  • Pitching / Office: Why is Rob Gsellman still on the roster? He has been consistently bad for some time. Francisco Lindor hit his first Mets homer. Figgy wants to see him more fun outside. Michael Conforto continued to struggle. Lots of Mets fans, including Frank Fans. The Mets are ranked first – no need to panic due to a terrible loss.
  • Nelson Figueiro Spanish Academy: Figny taught me to say “pinch-hitter” and “a ton of errors” in Spanish.

Lenny Harris Interview:
MLB’s all-time pinch leader, former Mets IF / (1998, 2000-2001), 18 MLB season

  • Pinch-Hitting: How was he willing to be so successful and pinch-hit for being late in the game and is it better than anyone?
  • 2000 m: Memories playing for that team and how good they were. One of the best teams he used to play with, this team led in stolen bases with eight.
  • POST-9/11 GAME: Cried for nearly nine innings, was an incredible night. The bus ride to NY was silent after the events of September 11, 2001.
