Francisco Lindor will arrive in New York with his “Cumming to America” replica jacket.
The new Mets shortstop arrived at the Spring Training Complex on Thursday morning, wearing the 1988 classic “Cumming to America” by Eddie Eddie Murphy’s character Prince Akeem Jofer. The sequel – “Coming 2 America” - is scheduled for release on March 5 on Amazon.
“Blue morning my neighbor,” the blue-haired Lindor said in a three-second video Tweeted from Mets official team account
. This is a line presented by Murphy in the film.
The Blue-Orange Mets jacket featured plenty of references to New York City tours, including the “I Heart NY” pin and the “Big Apple” patch.
Lindor, nicknamed “Mr. Muskan,” is one of the most fun-loving athletes in all pro-sports, and has not disappointed in that regard during his first spring training as he acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Indians went.
