Here are some notable nuggets that happened during Mets’ spring training action on Thursday:
Francisco fun
Francisco Lindor homered in the first inning (as part of a back-to-back behind Mark Canha) and stroked an RBI double in the fifth. Overall he reached base three times in helping the Mets beat Miami 9-3 in Port St. Lucie.
Losing the zone
Sean Reid-Foley walked three batters in the first inning and allowed one run. The right-hander threw 24 pitches in the inning.
Caught my eye
Jeff McNeil ranged up the middle to snag Garrett Cooper’s grounder in the third inning. McNeil fired across his body and threw out Cooper at first base. McNeil also reached base three times.
Friday’s schedule
Tylor Megill will face the Astros in West Palm Beach, Fla.
