A missing San Francisco computer programmer was found dead in a crawl location of his home last week, police said.
Coops responded Friday to Christopher Voitel’s apartment in the Mission District and found his remains in a three-foot-high crawl space above his bathroom that was “hidden from plain view,” According to the San Francisco Police Department.
Fire officials also arrived at the scene and had to pierce the roof to retrieve Vittel’s body.
Police say the crawl from the building’s roof is likely to be 50 years old. They do not doubt his death dishonestly.
Voytel’s mother reported him missing on January 13, after not listening to him for four days.
The neighbors Told the mission local Voitel was extremely generous by bringing food to the homeless and even allowing them to bathe in their home.
His family says he also suffered from depression. Prior to his death, he sent crazy messages to family and friends about the Capitol riot, saying that he wanted to escape the mountains, according to the outlet.
