The number of COVID-19 hospitalizations in New York has fallen to 3,883, the lowest since Dec. 19, Gov. Kathy Hochul said Saturday.
Hospitalizations have gone down 69 percent since the Omicron-fueled peak of 12,671 on Jan. 11, plummeting 30 percent in the last week alone, Hochul said.
The state’s positivity rate fell to 2.5 percent Friday with 4,232 test results coming back positive for COVID-19. The positivity rate in New York City Friday — when measured on a seven-day average — stood at 2.21 percent, which was the lowest in the state.
Sixty New Yorkers died of the virus Friday, including 25 who were residents of the Big Apple.
