NYC backs plan to close Trump-owned ice rink

The city is doing a full “180” on plans to close Trump-run ice skating rinks.

City Hall closed Mayor de Blasio’s shutter on Sunday and in an effort to freeze his political rival – Lasker and Volman in Central Park six weeks before the April closing dates.

“New York City kids are eligible for all-time snow this year. City Hall Press Secretary Bill Nehardt told The Post that Woolman and Lasker Rink will remain open under current management for a few weeks this season.

“But make no mistake, we will not do business with the Trump Organization going forward. An underwriting will never be forgotten or forgiven.”

Hizoner announced last month that he was opposing the city’s contracts with the Trump Organization, alleging that then-President Trump sparked a riot in the Capitol. Both were closed on Sunday.

The ravaged skaters, after a rift in the stunning policy, created a fierce furore over the weekend that they should not be kept off the ice due to Hijoner’s beef with the Trump administration.

“The real people they’re killing are the 2,500 kids this season who have benefitted from the skating program and the 250 innocent employees who are keeping it for us,” said 49-year-old Lee Clausner.

On Sunday, Eric Trump praised City Hall’s decision to keep the rink open.

“@NYCMayor Mr. Mayor – Thank you for keeping Volman and Lasker Rink open – you’ve made countless NYC families (including our 250 employees) incredibly happy. This is a bright moment for New York and please know that we are preparing it in advance. I am eager to say ‘thank you’ in person, They wrote On twitter

It was not immediately clear whether the rink would remain open until April as in previous years.

Trump’s trade group run by his sons Donald Jr. and Eric has operated the rink for more than three decades.
