NYPD coop largely shoots itself inside NYC apartment

On Wednesday, a NYPD soldier shot himself in his Manhattan apartment, sources said.

According to sources, the 34-year-old officer was discovered around 7:15 pm by police inside his Stuyvesant Town apartment.

He said he was lying face down on his bed, sources said, and he had a gun.

The soldier joined the department in 2013.

Sources said that he was stationed outside Times Square and would start his innings as usual at 6 pm.

His suicide is the second within the NYPD ranks this month.

On April 5, Sub Inspector Dennis Mulne shot himself in the head inside a department vehicle in Queens.
