NYPD Honors Alfred Boyesche with Memorial Plaque Dedication

A NYPD officer killed nearly three decades ago was honored on Friday, executing a search warrant at the Queens housing complex.

NYPD officers presented a commemorative plaque to the family of housing detective Alfred Boyash, who was assigned to the Narcotics Enforcement Unit outside the Police Service Area 9 in Flushing, Queens.

Bosch, 32, suffered a fatal heart attack while executing a warrant at Astoria House on January 21, 1995, 26 years ago.

FDNY Firefighters along with his wife Patricia and his son Dylan attended the ceremony with Detectives Endowment Association President Paul DiGiacomo, NYPD Housing Chief David Barre and Police Benevolent Association Housing Board members.

“I was incredibly honored today to vote,” said Patricia.

Patricia said, “It was a wonderful tribute and a person to see how great Al was.”

The dedication ceremony was originally scheduled to be held last year, but was postponed due to the coronovirus epidemic.

Boyashek served with the New York City Housing Authority Police Department for nearly 11 years.
