NYPD is on the hunt for a man accused of trying to rape a woman inside her Manhattan building last week.
Police said the suspect attacked the 23-year-old woman around 5 a.m. Friday inside the lobby of her apartment building near Saint Marks Place and First Avenue in the East Village, police said early Sunday.
The suspect sexually assaulted the woman before fleeing with her purse, which contained a wallet, a credit card and a camera.
The victim was treated at an area hospital for a swollen lip and lacerations to her mouth, according to the NYPD. She is currently in stable condition.
Video released by the NYPD shows the suspect, who has short black hair, wearing a unique yellow and black checkered shirt, black shoes, black pants and a gray and black jacket over the shirt.
