On-court argument of Tristan Thompson and Torrey Craig in Celtics-Suns matchup

Celtics center Tristan Thompson had some favorite words for the Sun Guard on Thursday night.

The Celtics celebrated the 99-86 victory over the Suns with 20 seconds to go in the fourth quarter as the two nearly hit Boston’s home court.

In the north footage of the exchange, near the Celtics bench, Thompson can be seen heading for Craig on top of Craig.

While it’s unclear what they were trash-talking about, various camera angles were able to identify Thompson as saying to Craig, “You’re trash!”

The clip shows Thompson pointing his face in front of Craig and waving his arm in the air.

The on-court beef slightly materialized when the two nearly knocked heads and appeared to take the weapon off.

They were eventually separated by their respective peers – holding Thompson with Celtics guard Marcus Smart, while Sun Giants Chris Paul pacified Craig.

According to play-to-play announcers, both Thompson and Craig received matching technicals as a result of the spat, and did not shake hands or exchange words after the game.

Thompson closed the night with nine points, 12 rebounds and one assist. Craig recorded seven points and five rebounds in the 22-minute game on Thursday night.

A 42–17 over-win put the Celtics as the No. 6 seed in the tightly-filled Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, the Jazz are ranked No. 2 behind the wide open Western Conference.
