Rapper Roddy Ricch, who performed at the Astroworld festival in Houston before Travis Scott took the stage, announced that he will donate his earnings from the ill-fated show to the victims’ families.
“Please have the families of those who we lost yesterday reach out,” the 23-year-old musician wrote on Instagram. “I’ll [be] donating my net compensation to the families of this incident. #Pray4Houston”
Ricch, who rose to fame with his single “Die Young” in 2018, asked for the affected families to reach out to Shawn Holiday, a member of his management team who served as the co-head of urban music at Columbia Records, according to Variety.
Meanwhile, Kanye West – whose legal name is Ye — dedicated his weekly Sunday Service prayer service to “the loved ones of Astroworld,” the outlet reported.
The service, which airs live on YouTube, Triller and Revolt, featured the rapper and his singers dressed in all black.
Other performers involved in Friday’s festival included SZA, Yves Tumor, Toro Y Moi, Metro Boomin, Don Toliver, Lil Baby and Master P.
“Speechless about last night I’m actually in shock n don’t even know what to say .. just praying for everyone in Houston especially the families of those that lost their lives,” SZA, 31, tweeted on Saturday.
Eight concertgoers died and hundreds more were injured in the chaos.
