And so the Russell Wilson story takes another turn.

The embattled quarterback will stay in Seattle, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, who reports the Seahawks have no plans to trade him despite a year’s worth of rumors and uncertainty. It’s coach Pete Carroll’s future that is cloudy, per Garafolo, after his first losing season in a decade.

Wilson has been linked to a number of teams, including the Giants, as issues with the Seahawks have grown. Though he submitted a list of four teams for which he would waive his no-trade clause last offseason, he’s been publicly diplomatic and positive about a future in Seattle during the season.

“I know for me personally, I hope it’s not my last game [in Seattle],” Wilson told reporters earlier this week.

That could be disappointing to the Giants, who need to decide whether to stick with Daniel Jones after a lackluster 2021.
