Sarah Jessica Parker channels Carrie at ‘And Just Like That’ premiere

Sarah Jessica Parker knows a thing or two about tutus.

On Wednesday, the 56-year-old actress got glammed up in a gray Oscar de la Renta gown and cape for the premiere of “And Just Like That…,” HBO Max’s highly anticipated Sex and the City reboot.

But the designer – among both her and Carrie Bradshaw’s favorites – wasn’t the only way she channeled her character. The distinctive dress also featured pink tulle peeping out from the side of the skirt, paying tribute to the tutu she wore in the show’s original opening credits over two decades ago.

Completing the look with a Carrie-approved accessory, Parker paired the show-stopping style with satin pink stilettos, in addition to an Erdem bag and jewelry from Fred Leighton and Larkspur and Hawk.

She was joined at the premiere by her husband Matthew Broderick, 59, and their 19-year-old son James.

It’s hardly the first time Carrie’s tutu has made a reappearance, as the actress posted a video of herself twirling in a similar tulle skirt in August, leading fans to speculate that the style would be one of the many iconic looks ready to be resurrected in “And Just Like That…”

Last month, “Sex and the City” costume designer Patricia Field even donated a replica of the opening credits’ famed tutu and tank top to Housing Works’ Fashion for Action fundraiser.

Field told Page Six Style at the time that the now-iconic look was created “by chance” back in the ‘90s, adding, “I was in some showroom and there was a bin of items for like $5 each or something; I can’t remember for sure. But I grabbed this tulle skirt and thought, ‘Let’s take it. We’ll see.’”

While producers weren’t sold on the “unconventional” wardrobe choice at first, and multiple outfit options were shot for the opening, Field said she and Parker both “really put out a campaign behind the tutu, and in the end it won.”

“I didn’t go into it with a conscious thought that it would become so iconic to the audience,” Field said. “But I think they liked it because of its originality, and because it was really evocative of Carrie’s personality.”

And with “And Just Like That…” now streaming on HBO Max, we can’t help but wonder what new styles will soon become iconic in their own right.
