  • Texas’ Jeff Banks, ‘Pole Assassin’ girlfriend sued over monkey biting Halloween trick-or-treater

Texas’ Jeff Banks, ‘Pole Assassin’ girlfriend sued over monkey biting Halloween trick-or-treater

    [ad_1]

The conflict between a Texas couple, Texas assistant head football coach Jeff Banks, Banks’ girlfriend and the girlfriend’s monkey has escalated.

Attorneys for the couple, Amy and Casey Clinkenbeard, filed a lawsuit Thursday in Travis County District Court in Austin against Banks and his girlfriend, Danielle Thomas, over the monkey biting the couple’s child on the hand on Halloween. The Clinkenbeards are seeking damages for gross negligence and defamation.

In the lawsuit, Amy and Casey Clinkenbeard claim the child, identified as C.C., was invited to Thomas’ home for a haunted house on Halloween and was taken to the backyard to see the monkey, which Thomas claimed was trained to give high-fives.

“Minor plaintiff attempted to high five the monkey,” the lawsuit states, “but the animal aggressively bit his hand and caused injuries. Thomas refused to provide vaccination records for her monkey and later falsely stated on social media that minor plaintiff did not have permission to be on the property and then said that her friend on the Bobby Bones Show gave a false version of the events.”

“C.C. was forced to manually pry the monkey’s jaw open,” the lawsuit, which was obtained by ESPN, claims. “There was so much blood that C.C. was unable to see the full extent of the injury.”

When the incident was first reported, Thomas defended her monkey on Twitter and gave her side of the incident. She claimed that the child did not have permission to enter the backyard

and that she had no knowledge of the bite until a neighborhood physician told her that they treated the injury. Thomas also claimed that the monkey, a female capuchin named Gia, has all of her shots and that it is an emotional support animal. Thomas’ tweets detailing those claims have been deleted.

Thomas also shared a video, which was also deleted, claiming that the child intruded into her backyard and went straight toward the animal’s enclosure. Thomas has since deleted her Twitter account.

“I don’t even play when it comes to my animals, Thomas said. “And I know all the legal rules on them. ‘Do not enter, emotional support animal, no touching.’ How could she (the monkey) viciously bite someone if they don’t stick their hand in there where it don’t belong? This is her home, and her home only.”

Thomas is an exotic dancer whose professional name is Pole Assassin. The monkey is apparently featured in some of Thomas’ routines and has her own Instagram account.

Banks, who just finished his first season at Texas as assistant head coach, tight ends coach and special teams coordinator, has not commented on the lawsuit.

  • ‘Halloween’ Team on Their Ventana Sur Animation! Project

    [ad_1]

Lucy Animation Studio’s Colombian cartoon “Halloween” was one of two feature films, alongside Star Toons Animation’s “Chaskis – Mensajeros del sol,” honored with the MIFA/Annecy Award from this year’s Ventana Sur Animation! sidebar. Teams representing the two films will receive full accreditation to Annecy 2022 and its MIFA marketplace, where they will pitch as part of the event’s Animation! Focus.

Organized with the Annecy Festival’s MIFA market, Animation! took on a hybrid format this year, with some delegates traveling to Buenos Aires and others accessing full project details online for all Ventana Sur accredited participants.

“Halloween” was created by Silvia Prietov, a Vancouver Film School alumnus, Cartoon Network Girl Power 2020 best pitch winner and talent to track. A fantasy 2D title, it features a darkened pop aesthetic, lots of purple and orange, and posits that the clock which controls the universe’s time has been tinkered with, condemning Bogotá to relive Halloween day over and over again. Ventana Sur Encuentros winner Karina Forero (“Mitomorfosis”) is producing. The film’s current team in Colombia is rounded out by co-director and screenwriter Daniel Mejia and graphic designer Sebastian García.

Prietov and Forero spoke with Reporter Door about their project, its inspirations and Halloween’s increasing popularity in the Colombian capital.

How did the visual style of Halloween develop? Were there any influences you used as a reference?

“Halloween” uses “Over the Garden Wall” as its main reference, the animated miniseries from Cartoon Network. However, the scenarios and landscapes are built based on Bogotá, and we want viewers to see and recognize its mountain peaks, like the famous Monserrate, the style of houses and buildings, as well as the palette that is inspired by how colorful and dark Halloween can be in this city.

Why Halloween? Is the holiday popular in Colombia?

It is not a popular holiday as such, but there is a great deal of festivity in which children and adults celebrate in costume, and it’s more popular than ever in the city. Only on Halloween can you feel the madness and excitement of people hoping to discover what will happen each year.

What stage is production in now and what are your goals for Ventana Sur?

“Halloween” is in the development stage, and our goal at Ventana Sur is to generate ties that allow us to continue maturing the project so that it is increasingly interesting visually and that it manages to transmit the magic of a city as chaotic as Bogotá. To that end, we would like to co-produce with the countries to which we pay tribute in the film to better utilize equipment and technicians who understand those cultures and the cinema of their respective countries.

Feature animation is an art form that is growing a lot in Latin America, what do you think is driving that growth?

It is born from the need to show our culture to the world and coming from such a surreal culture animation is a perfect medium to express that. On the other hand, there is a generation that grew up watching Cartoon Network, “The Simpsons,” “Futurama” and “South Park,” and they’re now adults looking to fulfill their dream of being able to create those programs with which they identified.

Could you talk about what each of the four of you contribute to the production?

Silvia is the creator of our stories, giving us her ideas and directing them so that the rest of the team can give them life. Sebastián understands Silvia very well and translates what she imagines into an image with unique characters and very representative scenarios. Daniel is a poet in the way in which he writes the story and Karina is responsible for executing each process of the project, understanding the needs and difficulties. However, for us the whole team plays a very important role because the project is formed thanks to each of those who fall in love with what Silvia does. The team includes artists like Jorge Pico, Laura Pineda, Mauricio bueno, Mario Carrascal, Esteban Jaime, Camo Art who are great animators and cleaners that give life to each scene they touch. The same is true of Jorge Moyano and Jefersson Vargas, who help us to give final touches in composition, as well as the rest of the team which trusts in Silvia’s vision.

  • Meghan Markle, Prince Harry went incognito in Halloween costumes

    [ad_1]

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had to get strategic when hanging out together before “it was out in the world” that they were dating.

The now-married couple once went incognito on Halloween for “one fun night out on the town” in Toronto, Markle, 40, revealed in a sneak peek clip of “The Ellen Show” Thursday.

“It was a post-apocalypse theme [party], so we had all of this very bizarre costume going on, and we were able to just have one final fun night out,” the Duchess of Sussex explained.

Host Ellen DeGeneres then said she had suggested that Markle and Harry, 37, once again go out in costumes for Halloween — since they are no longer senior members of the British royal family.

However, Markle said they chose to stay home this time because they “wanted to do something fun for the kids.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share 2-year-old son Archie and 5-month-old daughter Lilibet.

“The kids were just not into it at all,” Markle admitted. “Archie was a dinosaur for maybe five minutes.”

DeGeneres, 63, who saw the royal family on the spooky holiday, chimed in, “Not even five minutes. Finally, Harry talked him into putting the head on, but Lili was a skunk.”

The comic added, “It was so cute.”

“I know, like, Flower from ‘Bambi,’” Markle then said.

The former “Suits” star’s appearance on DeGeneres’ daytime talk show came as a surprise to many.

An insider on the show exclusively told Page Six Wednesday that Markle “was incredibly relaxed and fun and showed a whole different side to herself,” adding that the “audience laughed a lot” and “Didn’t know she was [a] guest until she walked out and they went wild.”

We were also told the activist “said thank you to everybody behind the scenes” and was “so normal and sweet.”

In a separate clip from the segment, Markle also chatted about her early days as an actress, visiting DeGeneres’ studio lot for auditions.

“I would park at gate three and then I would scoot on over, and what was so nice is the security guards would always say, ‘Break a leg, we hope you get it!’” she recalled. “So to drive in today was very different.”

  • Nick Cannon parties at strip club on Halloween

    [ad_1]

Father of seven Nick Cannon partied at a strip club on Halloween.

A costume-less Cannon was at Upper East Side jiggle joint Sapphire, we hear.

“He was DJing and [getting wild] on the mic,” a source told Page Six. “He was throwing singles at the dancers.”

He recently announced he is currently celibate on the advice of his therapist. He’s had four children with three different women in under a year.

At a separate Halloween event, Richie Akiva’s Entergalatic party with Kid Cudi at the Edge at Hudson Yard, an attendee told us that rapper Lil Nas X was dressed in a full Harry Potter costume, and was “running around pretending to cast spells” on people.

“He just kept running through the party waving the wand around,” says the spy.

Also there: Jonathan Cheban (dressed as mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa), Meek Mill, Emily Ratajkowski and Zac Efron.

Over at Harbor, rapper Fabolous performed for a crowd that included Cardi B, Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, Busta Rhymes, and Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kris Humphries.

A source told us Cardi was dressed as a witch and was “dancing surrounded by sparklers and rapping the lyrics to her own tracks.”

Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff had a much less crazy night, partying at Chapel Bar with boyfriend Sam Hine. The duo looked “very chic dressed as Thom Browne,” according to a spy.

The Gramercy Park hotspot was so packed that Emhoff’s security was not allowed in. “She decided to go in anyway without them. It was a lot of people there. There was a line around the block to get in,” the source said. Chloe Wise, Dorian Greenspan, and Miles Greenberg were part of the artsy crowd who packed the place.

Don Lemon and his partner Tim Malone showed up as “The View” hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar at the Gorey 849 Halloween Ball hosted by Amanda Lepore, CT Heddens and Margaret Josephs.

And on the Upper East Side, MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle proved again she’s becoming a reigning queen of Halloween by elaborately decorating her townhouse as a ghoulish destination. She dressed up as Jennifer Coolidge’s character from the HBO hit “The White Lotus.”

But by Monday morning, she tweeted: “Thank you to the 1,000 trick-or-treaters who knocked on our door, to NYC for another year of Halloween Magic,” and thanked her show’s production team for “holding down the fort today at 9AM. All those little hands have left me with the sniffles.”

Lonzo Ball posts Halloween photos with girlfriend Ally Rossel

    [ad_1]

Life is sweet for Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball.

Not only is Chicago sitting pretty with a 6-1 start to the season, but Ball is also winning off the court. He made his relationship with girlfriend Ally Rossel Instagram official on Monday with photos of the couple at a Halloween party.

Ball and Rossel dressed as characters from “The Matrix,” sporting all black outfits and matching sunglasses. While the pair has been spotted out in Chicago recently, it is the first time Ball has shared photos with the model to social media.

Rossel previously dated Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson. She was first linked to Ball over the summer. Clarkson is currently dating model Jasmine Rae, who was spotted with Ball in August.

Ball previously dated his high-school sweetheart Denise Garcia, and the pair welcomed a daughter, Zoey Christina Ball, in 2018.

The NBA star confirmed the couple had called it quits during a radio appearance in September 2019.
