  • ‘The Afterparty’ Season 2: Chris Miller Says Some Cast Members Return

    [ad_1]

“The Afterparty” executive producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord remain committed to mixed media presentations. Sure, there’s the multi-genre format of their murder mystery series, but their ambitions are perhaps even better explained by Season 1 star Ben Schwartz’s unorthodox appearance at the show’s Emmy FYC event at Hollywood Legion on Saturday.

Dialing in via FaceTime on an iPad perched on Miller’s lap, Schwartz shouted to the audience, “We’re all having fun, aren’t we?”

“The Afterparty” takes place after a high school reunion, as pop star alum Xavier (Dave Franco) invites his former classmates to party at his mansion. When Xavier falls to his death off of the balcony, Detective Danner (Tiffany Haddish) shows up to investigate who pushed him and each of the alumni is a suspect. Over the course of the night, the characters explain their version of what happened, with different film genres employed to illuminate each perspective.

Even though the murderer has been revealed, the mystery of “The Afterparty” continues — but now it’s about how the show will move forward. Miller, who also serves as creator and director of the Apple TV Plus comedy, shared just the smallest details about Season 2.

With only Tiffany Haddish announced to return thus far, Reporter Door pressed to see who else might appear. When asked whether Season 1 lead Sam Richardson would reprise the role of Aniq, Miller smiled.

“There will be returning actors beyond Tiffany and a whole bunch of new folks as well,” he confirmed. And during the onstage Q&A, he added: “A whole new murder. Different shenanigans. Different film styles. We do have a dog in it — that’s a spoiler, but there is a dog.”

For his part, Richardson seems eager to come back to the show.

“It feels like it should happen,” Richardson said after mentioning a scene in the Season 1 finale where Aniq gives Detective Danner his business card and offers his help solving another mystery. “I don’t know. I hope it does.”

Ike Barinholtz, who plays Brett, was less subtle. “I cannot answer any questions about Season 2 yet because I signed a deal with these guys [Miller and Lord] where they can legally take my home if I say,” he joked. “All I can say is that these guys figured out some really great stuff.”

If it were up to him, though, Barinholtz suggested a few ideas for upcoming episodes.

“I would do good in a movie like ‘Cheaper by the Dozen.’ A kids’ movie where the adults are just made fun of,” Barinholtz said when asked what genre he would choose for his character. “I know there’s a Season 2, but I think Season 3 should be me and [Brett’s daughter Maggie, played by Everly Carganilla], and I’m gonna talk to these guys about it.”

Richardson wants a kung fu episode. “I’ve studied Tae Kwon Do, Wing Chun Do and Jiu Jitsu, but I’ve never done a kung fu movie,” he explained.

Miller and Lord kept an even tighter lid on their genre plans for Season 2 than their casting, but they did express gratitude to be able to experiment with so many styles on a singular project.

Lord laughed, “It’s like eight blank checks.”

  • Why Andrew Garfield’s ex Alyssa Miller posted photo after breakup

    [ad_1]

Alyssa Miller was trying to show that she and Andrew Garfield ended on good terms when she posted a photo of the pair following their breakup.

A source exclusively tells Page Six that the model simply wanted to poke fun at the old photos the press was using in stories covering her split from the “Tick, Tick…Boom!” star.

“In no way was she pretending they were still dating,” our source says, adding, “It was a very amicable breakup. She was just tired of them using old photos and also wanted to show that they ended on good terms.”

The source explains it was all supposed to be “light-hearted” and was also meant to be read as “chapter’s closed” but “we’re still amicable.”

Shortly after reports of the pair’s split — which Page Six confirmed happened a few weeks ago, just before the Oscars — surfaced, Miller, 32, posted a snap of the couple to Instagram

, writing alongside it, “If you must gossip at least use a cute photo. Lol love you AG ?.”

The selfie showed Garfield, 38, and Miller on their way to the 2022 SAG Awards ahead of their breakup.

Meanwhile, a separate source told Page Six on Wednesday that the “Amazing Spider-Man” star’s pals were “weirded out” by his ex’s post.

“From the outside looking in, it seems as though she was denying they split, but they definitely did. It’s very confusing why she would do that,” the source told us.

The Sun was first to report news of Garfield and Miller’s breakup, with a source saying their “busy schedules” had contributed to the split.

“On top of that, it became clear that there were some differences between them, and it was decided they are better off apart, for now at least,” the source told the outlet.

Although reports claim the couple started dating in autumn, we’re told they actually began seeing each other in May 2021.

  • Andrew Garfield’s friends ‘weirded out’ by ex Alyssa Miller

    [ad_1]

Andrew Garfield is back on the market after all.

Even though the actor’s ex-girlfriend Alyssa Miller shared an Instagram post Monday insinuating they were still together, a source tells Page Six that is not the case.

“They ended the relationship amicably a number of weeks ago,” the source confirms.

One pal exclusively tells us that Garfield’s friends are “weirded out” by Miller’s lovey social media post, which she captioned, “If you must gossip at least use a cute photo. Lol love you AG ?.”

The model also included a selfie of the former couple en route to the 2022 SAG Awards, where they made their red carpet debut in February.

“If she wanted to clear the air, why did she make the post so vague?” the pal wonders. “From the outside looking in, it seems as though she was denying they split, but they definitely did. It’s very confusing why she would do that.”

Breakup rumors first swirled last week when the Sun reported that Garfield and Miller’s busy schedules made it “really hard to see each other” and led them to decide “they are better off apart.”

“Entertainment Tonight” also reported that the pair had called it quits, with a source saying, “Andrew is staying positive and surrounding himself with his close friends and loved ones.”

The Oscar-nominated “Tick, Tick… Boom!” star, 38, and Miller, 32, were first spotted together in November 2021, three years after her divorce from Tame Impala musician Cam Avery.

Garfield, for his part, previously dated his “Amazing Spider-Man” co-star Emma Stone and singer Rita Ora.

Reps for Garfield and Miller did not respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

  • Alyssa Miller Addresses Andrew Garfield Split ‘Gossip’

    [ad_1]

    Alyssa Miller is addressing rumors

that she and boyfriend Andrew Garfield have split.

On Monday, the model took to Instagram to respond to what she described as “gossip” about her relationship with the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” star, appearing to allude to the recent reports that claim the couple has broken up.

Miller, 32, posted a selfie of herself and Garfield, 38, above, and captioned the pic, “If you must gossip at least use a cute photo. Lol love you AG ?.”

The Sports Illustrated model’s post was seemingly in response to The Sun and Entertainment Tonight’s recent reports claiming she and Garfield had called it quits.

“Their work commitments and schedules made it hard for them to continue their relationship,” a source told ET. “Andrew is staying positive and surrounding himself with his close friends and loved ones.”

The news comes a little over a month after Miller and Garfield made their red carpet debut at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards in late February, as reported by E! News at the time. Garfield was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his critically acclaimed performance in “tick, tick…BOOM!”

It appears the photo that Miller shared on Monday was taken on the evening of the SAG Awards as the two are sporting the same look.

According to E! News, Miller and Garfield were first romantically linked in November 2021 after they were seen walking together in New York City. A few months later, in mid-February, a source confirmed the couple’s romance to the outlet. This came after the two were spotted holding hands and smiling following a tennis date in Malibu.

As for their dating history, Garfield was in a relationship with Emma Stone from 2011 to 2015. He was also previously romantically linked with Rita Ora, Christine Gabel and more.

The two-time Oscar nominee is known to keep his personal and love life private. While speaking to Bustle last November, Garfield said, “I’m not in the public eye to a great degree because I’ve designed it that way for myself. For my work, I’m fine with it, but otherwise I fight for my right for a private, personal life.”

Miller, meanwhile, dated Jake Gyllenhaal in 2014, according to The Sun.

  • Andrew Garfield, girlfriend Alyssa Miller break up: report

    [ad_1]

    His single senses are tingling.

Andrew Garfield and his girlfriend, Alyssa Miller, have reportedly broken up just one month after making their red carpet debut as a couple.

“They were together for quite some time before they went public, but work schedules mean it has been really hard to see each other,” a source claimed to The Sun Friday. “On top of that, it became clear that there were some differences between them, and it was decided they are better off apart, for now at least.”

The insider told the British newspaper that Garfield and Miller were a “really beautiful couple” and things were “going great at first,” but they just could not make it work in the end.

“It was disappointing for Andrew because he’d have loved to have shared the excitement of the awards season with someone he loved, but it just wasn’t supposed to be,” the source added.

The “Amazing Spider-Man” star is said to be doing well despite the circumstances and attempting to stay positive.

“He is keeping his chin up and taking some time for himself after a hectic few months,” the source told the outlet.

Reps for Garfield and Miller did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Garfield, 38, and Miller, 32, took their love public while attending the 2022 SAG Awards together on Feb. 27.

Just days prior to their red carpet debut, the duo were seen hitting a tennis court in Malibu, where they showed plenty of PDA before Valentine’s Day.

“[They] were certainly happy in each other’s company and not hiding anything,” an eyewitness told E! News at the time.

The Oscar-nominated “Tick, Tick… Boom!” star and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model were first spotted together in November 2021.

Miller previously dated Jake Gyllenhaal in 2014 and was rumored to have had a brief marriage to Tame Impala musician Cam Avery in 2018. Meanwhile, Garfield has dated several women in Hollywood including “Spider-Man” co-star Emma Stone and singer Rita Ora.

  • Ezra Miller arrested in Hawaii for disorderly conduct

    [ad_1]

Ezra Miller was arrested early Monday and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment, Hawaii County police announced.

The “Flash” star, who identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, had been at a karaoke bar Sunday night when they began “yelling obscenities and became agitated when people began singing karaoke,” according to the report.

At one point, Miller, 29, allegedly grabbed the microphone from a woman who was mid-song and later lunged at a man playing darts.

The “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” actor was arrested shortly after midnight, charged and released after posting $500 bail.

A rep for Miller didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

Miller made headlines in 2020 when they appeared to choke a fan on video at a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland.

“Oh, you wanna fight? That’s what you wanna do?” the “Perks of Being a Wallflower” star could be heard saying.

Miller then grabbed the woman by the neck and pushed her into a wall as a shocked bystander behind the camera said, “Whoa, bro! Bro!”

Although there was confusion at first as to whether the incident was a joke, a source at the bar later confirmed to Variety that it was, in fact, a serious altercation.

The source told the publication that the incident took place after Miller was confronted by a group of eager fans, who were “quite pushy.” Things then escalated, with the New Jersey-born star losing their temper at one woman in particular.

The bar’s staff subsequently escorted Miller, who was upset and angry, off the premises after the recorded incident.
