The Jets’ run on defense continues in the NFL Draft with Jason Pincock

After waiting until the fifth round to pick a defensive player, Jets general manager Joe Douglas competed in three rounds.

Pittsburgh cornerback Jason Pincock was the final pick of the Jets coming in 175 in the round, which he acquired in trade with the majors.

Pincock appeared in the Jets’ fifth-round bout with Auburn linebacker Jamian Sherwood and Duke cornerback Michael Carter II. The 6-foot, 204-pound Pinnock did not become a full-time starter for the Panthers until his senior year. He has a 6.75 -80-yard dash and is impressively mediocre. He led the Panthers with three interceptions and defended eight passes in each of his final three seasons in college.

The Jets are very slim at cornerback, so Pinnock may find time as a cheater on defense and he will definitely play special teams.

The Jets sent 162 more pick-round picks (226) to Kansas City as 175 and a sixth-round pick (207) as a pick in the fifth round. The Jets have three picks in the sixth round.
