The TimberViews fired head coach Ryan Saunders on Sunday night. The team reportedly will replace him with Raptors assistant Chris Finch on a full-time basis.
“These are difficult decisions to make; However, this change is in the best interest of the short-term and long-term goals of the organization, ”team president Gerson Rojas said in a statement. Roja said that the team will inform about the announcement of their next head coach on Monday.
Saunders was dismissed after the Timbers lost in New York. Minnesota is final in the Western Conference at 7-24. The son of the late Wolves coach and executive Flip Saunders set a 43-94 record in three seasons with the club.
