Tiger Woods Crash Update: Latest News, Details on Golfer after ‘Major’ Car Accident in Los Angeles

According to LA law enforcement, Tiger Woods has been injured in a single-vehicle roll-over collision in Los Angeles.

Woods was injured on Tuesday in a car accident in which fire personnel had to use Jaws of Life to get him out of the vehicle.

MSNBC reports that investigations into the cause of the accident are still underway.

Woods was hosting the Genesis Invitational Golf Event in the Los Angeles area. He stayed in the Los Angeles area for a few extra days on a golf digest shoot with former NBA star Dwayne Wade and actor and comedian David Spade.

Woods, 45, recently underwent his fifth surgery after playing at the Masters in November. He was aiming to return to Augusta for a Masters in April, as reported by Jim Nantz of CBS Sports over the weekend.

2:57 pm ET: According to Los Angeles County Public Information Officer Henry Narvaez, Woods suffered moderate to significant injuries.

2:48 PM: Woods’ agent says Woods has sustained multiple leg injuries and is currently in surgery, according to Daniel Rapaport of Leg Digest.

2:45 PM: Pictures of the car in which Woods is believed to have been found have surfaced:

2:37 PM: There is currently no official word on Woods’ injury. The wreck has been described as “major”, with the LA County Sheriff’s Department stating it had to remove Woods from the wreck using the Jaws of Life. The collision occurred on the West Coast in the early hours of Tuesday.

Woods was photographed with former NBA superstar Dwayne Wade prior to the accident. The video was posted on Wade’s Instagram account, although the timeline for the video suggests it was from Monday. Woods was also made a video with actor and comedian David Spade.

Woods underwent his fifth back surgery in December, and was in the process of restarting the injury to return to the course.
