Tracy Morgan, Chris Mullin endorse Robert Cornegy in Brooklyn race

A candidate in the crowded — and largely overlooked — race for Brooklyn borough president is getting a big-time celebrity boost, with “30 Rock” and “SNL” star Tracy Morgan and local NBA Hall of Famer Chris Mullin releasing get-out-the-vote videos for Councilman Robert Cornegy Jr.

“These are the guys who watched me when there was no lights, no chance or idea of me serving publicly and still believe in my ability to elevate this great, fantastic borough,” Cornegy told The Post.

He is one of 14 candidates running for the seat in the June 22 primary election. Cornegy met Morgan in Bedford-Stuyvesant, where his father was the pastor of a church in the late 1980s.

“Originally, we were just friends growing up in the old neighborhood doing particularly well in other arenas,” said Cornegy.

“Fast forward to Tracy wanting to make a serious difference in his community, we picked up where we left off,” Cornegy said, noting that the two have done food drives, park rehabs and a community center at the Marcy Houses.

And Cornegy met Mullin, a two time Olympic gold medalist, when they played together on the 1984-1985 St. John’s University men’s basketball team that made it to the Final Four.

“We first knew each other as very young men— 18 and 19– playing in the premiere leagues. He’s kind of a mentor to me,” said Cornegy who towers over the 6 foot 7 inch Mullin with his 6 foot 10 inch frame.

Cornegy said Morgan and Mullin represent two very different parts of the diverse borough, and show how he’ll be someone who unites different factions.

In a 30-second video, Morgan says, “It’s time to get your vote in for my man.”

“What up, Brooklyn? It’s your man, Tracy Morgan, you know what time it is, yo,” he says in the clip. “It’s time to get your vote in for my man Rob. E. Cornegy for Brooklyn borough president. You know what time it is.

“Please get it in. We need you for Brooklyn borough president, Rob. So get out, y’all, and put in your vote for him.”

“What’s up, Brooklyn? This is Chris Mullin endorsing the campaign for the one and only choice for Brooklyn borough president, my friend, my brother, Robert Cornegy Jr.,” Mullin says in a similar video.

“I’m asking you to make Rob your No. 1 choice.”
