The account, which was pulled from Twitter to relate to former President Donald Trump’s newly launched communications platform, was not created by the former commander-in-chief’s team, The Post has learned.

Reached for comment by The Post, including questions on the account’s legitimacy, Twitter stood by the decision despite being unaware of the user’s identity.
A Twitter spokesperson said, “As stated in our sanctions policy, we will take enforcement action on accounts that are explicitly intended to alter or promote content associated with the suspended account.”
The forum got permanently banned after the then president’s January 6 capitol riots.
At the time, Twitter defended his suspension “because of the risk of further outbursts of violence”.
The company’s continuing position is that it would not consider allowing him to return to his platform, even if he was back in public office, with many of Trump’s political opponents rubbed off unfairly.

Trump rejected the decision in a statement – which cannot be shared on social media – in which he said companies are censoring them “they have to pay a political price.”
“What Facebook, Twitter and Google have done is an insult and an embarrassment to our country. Free speech has been taken away from the President of the United States because the radical left is afraid of the truth, but the truth will be bigger and stronger than ever, ”he said in an email statement.
“The people of our country will not stand for this! These corrupt social media companies should pay a political price, and should not be allowed to destroy our electoral process again and destroy it, ”he said.
