Yonis Cespedes wants to play four more seasons

Port ST. LUCIE – Yoenis Cespedes’ latest comeback effort does not come with a short-term mindset.

According to a source, the former Mets slogger tries to find this house, he told friends that he would like to play another four seasons. If that goal is met, Cespedes will be taken to his 39th birthday.

Earlier this week, Cespedes held a showcase at nearby Pierce in which 11 teams participated, Including the Yankees.

Four seasons would appear to be an ambitious goal given Cespedes’ health history, which has been a primary reason he has been unable to stay on the field for anything close to a full year since 2016.

After spraining an ankle bone trying to kill a wild boar after heel surgery and an ankle fracture, Cespedes started with the Mets last season, but faced frustration with playing time and in his contract. Worries were not met.

Cespedes signed a $ 110 million four-year deal with the Mets after the 2016 season, but the contract was significantly restructured following an accident on their farm in May 2019.
