The Knicks still have 18 garden games in Boston before the conclusion of their regular season on May 16.
The Post has learned that the franchise has kept in touch with political leaders in the state to expand the maximum crowd size before the end of the season.
The Knicks have staged four games with limited – but louder – fans since 23 February. The maximum is about 2,000 patrons (or 10 percent capacity) under state guidelines.
According to the source, as vaccination picks up, the Knicks are optimistic attendance numbers that could at least double by the end of mid-May. The Knicks are in a playoff position in the All-Star break, finishing fifth, meaning the postson game could be added.
The Knicks may hold their first playoff game since 2013 at the 19,400-seater garden. The Nucks are 3–1 in the game before their arrogant, chanting crowd. RJ Barrett commented, “For 2,000 fans, they are really loud.”

A Garden spokesperson told The Post, “We are thrilled to have fans at the Garden and we can not wait to be able to welcome more of them after the fantastic response we have experienced.” “We will not comment on our interactions with the state.”
Outside the break, the Knicks begin a four-game road trip starting Thursday in Milwaukee. The first garden game is March 18 vs. Orlando. Ticket holders will still have to show proof of a COVID-19 test in the last 72 hours.
