Bengaluru, November 6: Enterprise software major Salesforce India saw its total revenue rise more than 36 per cent to Rs 9,116.3 crore last fiscal (FY24) from the previous year, according to its regulatory filing with the Registrar of Companies. The company on Wednesday committed to a new Salesforce Tower in Bengaluru that would be one of the 10 tower investments the company has made in key markets, including San Francisco, New York, Chicago, London, Dublin, Sydney, Tokyo, Atlanta and Indianapolis.

The 12-story tower will feature an immersive lobby, a Salesforce Innovation Centre, and spaces designed for how employees work today with a focus on collaboration, sustainability, and employee wellness, according to a company statement. New Delhi, Novemeber 4: After a food safety regulator’s raid at Zomato’s Hyperpure warehouse in Hyderabad allegedly found 90 packets of button mushrooms labelled with a “future packing date”, the company’s CEO Deepinder Goyal on Monday said it was due to a “manual typing error on the vendor’s side”.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) team had identified 90 packets of such button mushrooms with incorrect packaging dates. Zomato’s Hyperpure is a business-to-business (B2B) vertical. “This is not usual, and was due to a manual typing error on the vendor’s side. Still, the concerned vendor has been delisted from our database. New Delhi, November 3: Samsung may soon release the much-anticipated One UI 7 Beta with new features. The update is expected to enhance user experience by focusing on better performance, improved user interface, and various new tools. New Delhi, November 2: In a perfect example of growing rural consumption, Amazon India on Saturday said it witnessed highest-ever 140 crore customer visits during its month-long festive sales, with more than 85 per cent of them coming from non-metro cities.

Almost 70 per cent of participating sellers hailed from tier 2 and beyond cities, and the e-commerce giant also witnessed highest-ever number of sellers (from tier 2 and 3 cities) receiving a sale compared to the festive season last year. “Over 4,500 sellers experienced a 10x spike, over 7,000 sellers saw a 5x spike, and over 13,000 enjoyed a 2x spike in sales as compared to last year’s event,” said Amazon India.

EMIs fuelled big-ticket purchases. One in four electronics sales, from mobiles to large appliances, leveraged EMI options. A staggering four out of five of these were No Cost EMIs, registering 45 per cent YoY growth. Overall EMI adoption surged 25 per cent compared to 2023, said the e-commerce giant.

The premium smartphone segment (Rs 30,000 and above) saw the highest YoY growth (among all price segments, in volume) driven by wide range of selection, great deals and payment options. As per a report of The Verge, Anthropic’s Claude AI chatbot now has a desktop app available for macOS and Windows. Interested users can get the Mac and Windows versions of the app by visiting Anthropic’s website. Additionally, Anthropic made its new “Computer Use” feature available in public beta. The feature enables the Claude 3.5 Sonnet model to interact with a computer by observing the screen, moving the cursor, clicking on buttons, and typing in text. Claude’s features can be integrated directly into the work environment you prefer.

It is important to note that these features do not include the recently introduced “Computer Use” capability from Anthropic. The desktop applications are accessible for users who are using Claude for free and those who have subscribed to Anthropic’s premium plans. According to reports, the desktop version of Claude is quite similar to the web version. As per a report of TechCrunch, Anthropic also released a dictation tool for Claude but it is currently not available in the new desktop apps. San Francisco, November 2: Elon Musk, who is busy promoting Donald Trump for the keenly-watched US presidential election on November 5, has reportedly laid off more employees from his X social media platform. According to a report in The Verge, a new wave of layoffs has hit X, primarily affecting its engineering department, citing sources inside X and posts on the workplace forum Blind.

“The exact scale of the job cuts remains unknown. Must or X were yet to comment on the report. Recently, the tech billionaire had reportedly sent an email to X staff about their much-anticipated stock grants — although with a catch. “That means staff have to submit a one-page summary telling leadership their contributions to the company in order to get their stock,” said the report. The workforce was forced to justify their roles and even judge whether their own colleagues should be retained.
