Facebook enables users to control who comment on their posts

The social media giant said on Wednesday that Facebook would allow users to customize their feeds and give control to those who could comment on their public posts.

The company will also provide a feed filter bar that will allow users to switch between the algorithm rankings of their feeds or show it in posted content.

The largest social network around the world has changed, as its platforms have come under fire for increasing hate speech and misinformation.

Facebook says in a blog post that users can select comments for any public post such that anyone can view or comment on the post.

Nick Clegg, vice president of global affairs at Facebook, claimed in a medium post on Wednesday that the company’s algorithm does not cause polarization.

“The reality is, it’s not in the interest of Facebook – financially or reputedly – to continually raise temperatures and push users towards ever more extreme content,” Clegg said.

He also said that the majority of Facebook’s revenue comes from advertising, and advertisers would not want their brand and product to be displayed right next to “extreme or hateful content”.
