According to a report released on Friday by the multinational airplane manufacturing giant, Boeing fired 65 employees and disciplined 53 others for “racist, discriminatory or otherwise disgusting conduct”.

The report noted that disciplinary action took place following the formation of the company’s “Diversity Equity Plan” and the Diversity Equity Task Force that began last year.
“As we have seen horrifying images in the news and heard heartbreaking stories from our people, our determination towards equity, diversity and inclusiveness has been strengthened,” the report said. “It is clear that we have an opportunity for change within our walls and in our communities – and we are taking an important step today.”
