Louisiana man selling bike on Facebook dies after meeting suspect

Authorities said Monday that a Louisiana man tried to sell dirt bikes on social media.

Joseph Windell, 29, left his New Orleans home around 10 a.m. Sunday to come to Harvey’s town to meet Jalen Harvey, where he planned to sell the bike, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto Said at a press conference.

“Mr. C. Vindale never returned from that transaction,” the sheriff said.

Wyndell listed his bike on the Facebook marketplace for $ 2,700.

After he had no hearing for hours, Vindale’s family contacted the police. Detectives found the message between Wyndell and Harvey talking about bike sales, Lopinto said.

He said the text messages led police to an apartment complex in Harvey, where he found Windle’s dirt bike in a pettis.

During his search, police came in contact with 20-year-old Harvey, who, according to the sheriff, admitted to shooting Vindell several times in his car.

Police say Harvey drove the vehicle and left Vindale’s body in the back seat. Later, Harvey sent the dirt bike back to the apartment complex, police said.

Harvey was arrested on Monday and is facing a first-degree murder charge.

Lindsey Vindell could not believe her son – who had recently obtained his real estate license and was beginning his career as a realtor – was killed on a dirt bike.

The distraught father said, “He was loved by everyone and he did not deserve it.” Told WWL-TV.
