Michigan State football cut ties with recruiter accused of ejecting girl

School officials said in a statement on Friday that Michigan State Football had cut ties with an accused trying to extricate an underage girl who refused her advance.

The team said it had informed 18-year-old cornerback Stephen Johnson that he would “not be a member of the Sparta program.”

Michigan State originally planned to go to the team’s spring game, before cutting ties with Stephen Johnson.

Johnson, who signed with the team in December, recently released videos of allegedly having a past sex with a minor after he refused to threaten her with kissing outside his home in Florida. Was arrested in The Detroit Free Press has reported

According to the police report obtained by the newspaper, the video was allegedly recorded at a time when the victim was 15 and Johnson was 17.

Johnson is accused of threatening to post footage on social media in an attempt to “hurt the reputation” of the girl, whose father contacted police on Wednesday, according to the newspaper.

Johnson has been charged with extortion and transmission of a sexual performance by a child.

He has been released from custody after posting bond, online records show.
