MLB will delay Triple-A season by one month

Major League Baseball will delay the start of the Triple-A season by at least a month, Ken Davidoff of The Post confirmed.

As was expected, MLB will operate alternative sites similar to those used during the pandemic in the 2020 season, causing a triple-A delay, confirming the league.

Temporary start dates for Triple-A East and Triple-A West will be May 4 and May 6, respectively.

ESPN was the first to report the delay, when MLB sent the memo to the teams to confirm the move.

This news will not affect the opening day of MLB on 1 April. Fifteen games are on tap that day with a limited number of fans in most stadiums.

According to ESPN, due to the delay, Triple-A teams are expected to run their season deep in September. Sources said that about 24 players will be allowed at each team’s alternate venue on the website.
