Law enforcement sources told The Post that several suspects were caught on Friday in connection with the horrific string of morning attacks on the subway in Manhattan, killing four victims and punching another.
Sources said “persons of interest” were busted inside Transit District 1 on Broadway and West 79th Street around 1pm.
Sources say that at least two men randomly attacked Stretcher during a 35-minute interval on the rail hours ago.
The horrific crime spree began at around 4:25 am when a 44-year-old man sitting in a 4 train southbound at Union Square stop was bitten in the face.
The attackers stopped in the train and minutes later targeted two people sleeping in different cars.
According to police sources, one of the victims, 41, said that a person woke him up and punched him in the face at Astor Place.

The 40-year-old other victim said he woke up to attack his friend – and then killed himself, sources said.
Sources said the thugs stayed on the train and then stabbed a 44-year-old man near the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall stop. The victim stole cash from him and his cellphone was thrown on the tracks.

Sources said that at 5 am, a 44-year-old man was stabbed in the right eye, left side of his neck, and his backpack stolen in a Northbound D train at 59th Street / Columbus Circle Station.
