He is taking street performance to the next level.
Catalan composer Xavier Lozano won fans and hearts with a video playing a rusty metal barricade like a flute.
39-year-old director Marcel Berena, who has won two Gowdy Awards, posted Catalonia’s answer to the Oscars, a snap of the inventive musical man On her instagram feed, Viewed more than 6,500 times. And above Lozano’s sleeves are a few more nontraditional wind instruments.
“Buscando nuevos sonidos para @mediterraneofilm,” Barrena wrote, meaning “looking for new sounds for @mediterraneofilm,” which is the director’s latest project.
The sound of road blockage? The cool, deep, windy sound bounces off the construction site. There is no word on whether he was up to date on his tetanus shot.
But it is not just the small fence that Lozano brings to the world of music. He managed to make a sound out of a two-barreled gun, a plastic bottle, a brick and a bicycle tire.
He called his process, According to his instagram bio, “La Música Ho Hobita,” or “Music Settles Everything.”
