If so, Villanova quarterback Daniel Smith took the red pill (or was it the blue pill?) Before the Wildcats Colonial Athletic Association game vs. Delaware on Saturday.
Trailing his team by 14 points in the fourth quarter, Smith stretched out his right hand side and was taken down by a defender – but not before he somehow defied physics and taunted Charlie Gilroy. One out, who got the ball for six.
It still counted for just one point, though, and the Wildcats would eventually lose 27–20 by the Blue Hens.
Still, throwing a TD pass that the crazier casts an eye on you, and no eyes were wider than Patrick Mahomes’s ridiculous game of the King of Football.
“Man that’s some crazy stuff,” Mahomes tweeted with two laugh emojis and a thumbs up.
Could it work wonders for Smith’s NFL draft prospects? Well, maybe not. But it can’t hurt to have a ridiculous TD pass in your highlight reel, and hey, the Mahomes stamp of approval is cool too.
