The Yankees are already a game in their 2021 spring training program. They went through the first game without injury, which means it is a resounding success. This is a big question for this team every season. Can they stay healthy? They brought in early horses with injuries and made some comebacks from injuries. Do they have enough to compete for the championship?

To address that and offseason as a whole, we’re back with season 2 of “Pinstripe Pod” with Chris Pinner and four-time Yankees World Series champion Jeff Nelson. People were joined in the first episode by longtime Yankees radio voice Suzanne Waldman.

Pinstripe Pod with Chris and Nelly:

  • Glad to see baseball back. Aaron the judge is not happy to dive for a ball Sunday and risk injury. It was a little surprise to see such an early start in spring training.
  • Domingo German position. Nellie says they may have seen her release. Will that be a distraction for the team?
  • Starting rotation question mark. Corey Kluber and Jameson Tillon are returning from injuries. Luis Severino at some point from Tommy John surgery. On paper you like rotation, but health is paramount.
  • Offsen move: Inclusion of Darren O’Day and Justin Wilson in the bullpen. Bringing back Brett Gardner and DJ Lemahieu. Did they do enough?
  • The Yankees are clear AL former favorites. The weakest division may be in MLB.
