TAMPA – Gary Sanchez-Gerrit Cole Battery was unplugged at the end of last year, but the Yankees are giving it another run to open the new season.
Manager Aaron Boone confirmed on Sunday that he hoped to let Sanchez catch Cole on Opening Day against The Blue Jays at The Bronx.

Kyle Higashioka, who became Cole’s personal catcher last season and also pressed Sanchez to start non-Cole in the playoffs, was set to catch the Yankees for the second time this spring. But Boone said that Sanchez had to do a byproduct to catch back-to-back games, which were to come out on Thursday’s day instead of a harringer of the upcoming game.
“I would expect Gary to be behind Opening Day there,” Boone said.
Sanchez, who caught Cole in a Grapefruit League game this spring, has been praised throughout the camp for his offseason work, which he has shown in the opening round.
