Zach Wilson works on Jets rookie minicamp

New Jets quarterback Zach Wilson was on the field as a pro for the first time on Friday.

Wilson is participating in the Jets’ rookie minicamp this weekend. Wilson, wearing a red No. 2 jersey, practiced a few different exercises, working with offensive coordinator Mike LaFelur and passing game specialist Greg Kannap during part of the practice open to the media.

There was not much to take away from the open media window. The 7-on-7 drill was done without media there. Jets coach Robert Saleh said he is not trying to hide Wilson, but wants to give him some time to learn in a low-pressure environment.

The Jets drafted Wilson No. 2 on April 30. He is the only quarterback in the rogue camp, so he should get a lot of work.
